Kemp Proteins has developed a software called PROTiQ. It is a suite of machine learning tools that address a breadth of considerations and liabilities across all protein types from any organism, including unnatural engineered sequences, using literature and database searches in addition to transformer-based machine learning models. The models predict subcellular localization, proteolysis, post-translational modifications, transmembrane domain prediction, potential co-purification contaminants, and regions susceptible to proteolysis as a function of recombinant expression host. Additionally, structural models are generated to gain insight into free termini, oligomeric states, and higher ordered structure. These considerations are used to identify potential strategies to generate proteins of interest that satisfies the Critical Quality Attributes required to meet the defined program goals in addition to scaleable and safe processes.
